Transformer is a device to transfer electrical energy from one circuit to other,where the frequency remain unchanged and the two circuit has no physical connection.This transfer of energy occurs in two ways:
1-The voltage remain unchanged.
2-The voltage is changed.
power input to the transformer and power output from the transformer is always same. That is,P(in)=p(out).As P=v*i, thus voltage and current adjust themselves to remain the power always same.
