What is IELTS-
IELTS or International Language Testing System -is an English skill test.Many countries in the world and most of the universities seek IELTS score to judge English skill of the applicants.Statistics says over 51% of the applicant appears for IELTS.
This test is jointly managed by University of Cambridge ESOL exanimation,The British Council,IDP Pty Education Limited and established in 1989.
Some Facts Of IELTS in brief-
There are two versions of Ielts,the academic version and the general version.When you appear for Ielts and get the result,the validity of this result is two years.That is you can use this result for two years from the day the result is published.
This test is taken in four categories-reading,writing,speaking and listening.Each categories score will be combined to form final score.
Score band scale is from 0.0 to 9.0
From 6.0 to upper is considered as a good and dicent score.But the score requirements may vary for different countries and universities.
This test is taken in 500 locations in 121 countries accross the world.
There are 48 test dates available per year.but you can't apply in all of them.There should be 3 month delay between each test one person takes.
